From Nisa: The Life and Words of a !Kung Woman / Nisa
In this passage from The Life and Words of a ! Kung Woman, Nisa discusses her childhood and all of the various experiences and adventures that she can look back on. She had a bad relationship with her father, to say the least. her father was very abusive, both mentally and physically to his children and spouse. Nisa accounts being hit many times and you leaving her crying to a point no child, should ever have to go through. I think the trauma Nisa endured as a child shaped the way she acted as an adult. she began being active with her husband very early on even when she had just started her transition into womanhood. I think it was a very scary thing for Nisa to go through, but this story led to a very inspiring and impactful story for all readers and audiences. Most children are able to recount many different aspects of their childhood. The good, the bad, the triumphant, and the ugly all get grouped together. It was very nice reading a woman's very detailed account of her childhood.
